-Salt flats in Utah. Looks like a lake behind us but it's just salt. It's where they test cars and drive them reeeeeealy fast!
It's been a long driving day but ended well with a tour of temple square in Salt Lake City, a swim in the indoor pool at the hotel and ice cream and a movie in the room. The day has been filled with some fun family car time and some whining spells from the younger two. Mostly I realize the cramped quarters we're in and how there is no where to get a moment alone, obviously, but I guess I take for granted those little moments you can find alone at home and how needed they are for me. Please pray for my frustration level.
Lauryn and I went to the weirdest and smelliest rest stop bathroom ever! It was a mystery whether there was a bottom to the toilet or not. We drove through Nevada which was neventful until we made a routine stop for gas and found we needed a new rear shocks. 30 minutes later and $430, we couldn't wait to get to Utah. Utah has salt flats that look like an old lake bed but are filled with white and we even walked on them and the ground was muchy like dried mud with some give. We're already on a time difference and it's one-hour later here. We're still unsure of our plans in Wyoming tomorrow but hope to go to a ranch to see or ride on horses and eat some good old fashioned BBQ.
Here's some more pics from the day:
Rest stop in Nevada. Kidos happy to be out of the van. That's snow on the mountains behind us!

Dad Mann is quite the handyman. Good call on calling him! He's gonna help us fix the condo this weekend. What would we do w/o him. Is Geoff getting reception on his cell. Tell him to check his messages! The pictures are adorable. Seeing pics of Lauryn and Logan remind me of me & Geoff going across country. Wait until they can drive. That's even funnier!
