We left Utah today with a stop in Park City where Geoff and I were at the Winter Olympics 7 years ago! Who knew we'd be back with three children this many years later. We stopped at a Wal-Mart today and bought the kids a new toy for the car ride and three new movies (well "High School Musical 2" was for me! =) I drove all day today through Wyoming. What a beautiful landscape God has created for us to enjoy! There were so many ranches. It rained half of the day so we were unable to go to any outdoor facilities, but guess who came through for us, none other than Mickey D's. We came all the way to Wyoming to spoil our children with the McDonald's play land and boy did they have fun!
The car ride has gone beautifully today, there must be people praying for us. Luke, signed "more" to us today instead of screaming for "more", Logan played great with his sister in the back seat and Lauryn was happy all day with her toys and movies. Richard, our 6th family member who rides on the dashboard and tells us to "go left", "stay straight" and "continue for 200 yards" has really come through for us in a pinch. But, not in quite enough time for Logan to avoid having to relieve himself in a cup in the car. Oh, my goodness I swore I would never do that but when it came to the situation you do what you have to I guess. We found a good local BBQ place called Bootie's BBQ (the name of a dog!) and shared a big family meal. I did not see any buffalo and I was so excited for that. Geoff remembered seeing buffalo here before but more north in the state. We tried to stop at a dinosaur museum but it was closed. Now we are at the Covered Wagon Motel in Lusk, Wyoming and Geoff played with the kids on the playground while I write this post. We didn't see anything especially special but what a great day as a family together! Tomorrow Grampy and Grammy meet us at Mount Rushmore.
Enjoy going out with this video of a typical rest stop with Geoff and the kids.
Your family is SO beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat was flippin' hilarious. You should post more videos!! And I'm most excited that you guys got to eat some famous pork booty!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Mann Family!
ReplyDeleteLooks like your guys are off to a great start to what promises to be a trip of a lifetime. You are probably approaching Mount Rushmore...Wow what a place! Make sure to visit the Crazy Horse exhibit as well. No need to pay the entrance fee as you can see it perfectly from the highway. Another stop you will want to make is Custer State Park, which is a wonderful place to view wildlife and feed the mules. The mules will actually come to your car window and eat out of hand. One peice of advice though, make sure that Richard guy pitches in for gas and by all means don't feed him or you'll never get rid of him.
God Bless,
Patzer Family
Luke is walking yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
